About the exhibition

Using watercolor, pencil, ink and etching, José Antonio Suárez Londoño attempts and succeeds in the impossible task and shared human desire of trying to present the chaos of reality in an ordered way.

Drawing, a daily activity from the 1970s onwards for the Colombian artist José Antonio Suárez Londoño, is the tool through which the artist opens up his internal world to the viewer. For the first time, in the San Gimignano show, José Antonio Suárez Londoño exhibits drawings on a larger scale as well as presenting a collection of previously unseen drawings completed between 2018 and 2019. One of the Dibujo 2019 series includes rubberstamp-produced tiny images; the artist has been creating small rubber stamps since the 1980s and continues to do so today.
