About the exhibition

Curated by Jeffrey Uslip, the exhibition presents Alma Allen’s sculptural practice through works that reflect his enduring engagement with the landscapes, geological formations, and materials of the Americas. Over the past three decades, Allen has developed a distinctive visual language in which natural matter is transformed into fluid, biomorphic forms that challenge perceptions of weight, movement, and permanence. Bringing together sculptures created for the United States Pavilion at the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, the exhibition explores the artist’s concept of “elevation,” understood both as a physical expression of form and as a metaphor for aspiration, transformation, and possibility.
